ahamo

ahamo announced that from March 12, 2026, identity verification for new contracts and MNP switching on the ahamo site will move to an IC-chip reading process, aligning with revisions to the anti-fraud mobile phone regulations taking effect April 1. Customers will need an IC-enabled ID (such as My Number Card, driver’s license, residence card, or special permanent resident certificate), an NFC-capable smartphone, and the latest ahamo app. Verification will be limited to JPKI or IC-based eKYC, ending document upload and selfie-based eKYC, and some IDs or address-mismatch cases will no longer be accepted online.
